HAVING TROUBLE SHIFTING INTO 3RD GEAR ON 4200 JDSOME TIMES IT WILL GO IN THEN NEXT TIME YOU CAN NOT GET IT INTRACTOR IS NEW

Check the archives. There are several good posts about this problem. One good suggestion which I found works is to wait 2-3 seconds after shifting to neutral before shifting to next gear. And always shift gear to neutral before shifting range lever. (all this you read in the manual of course). And one post said something about cutting out some plastic guard underneath that the lever hits. (I haven't tried this yet.) Good luck. ....
